Playback Learning Academy offers SQA Professional Development Awards (PDA) in Leadership and Management to future aspiring leaders including senior managers, principal and classroom teachers and support for learning staff.

The innovative PDAs will support staff to demonstrate their management and leadership capabilities and provide them with a recognised SQA qualification linked to the school improvement plan as part of a rigorous implementation cycle. These PDAs are competency based delivered onsite which allow candidates to choose the units that match their requirements within the school context whilst reflecting an aspect of the school improvement plan.

These are complaint with management obligation to address staff development and professional obligation of teachers to continuous professional learning. These will provide opportunities for capacity building by adding to existing qualifications in line with Career Long Professional Learning (CLPL) and will contribute to the General Teaching Council (GTC, Scotland).

The PDAs encourage disseminated leadership opportunities for those staff who are seeking and recognise the value of accredited leadership opportunities. They provide a practical insight into the current concepts of what effective leadership means within education in the 21st century. Candidates are supported through an ePortfolio to evidence against the SQA performance criteria and Playback’s SQA Assessors and Verifiers.

You can also complete the SQA Assessor Award via individual SVQ Units and workplace Professional Development Awards (PDAs), available at SCQF levels 8 and 9.
